EasyBadge: Troubleshooting

By on February 2nd, 2020

EasyBadge is our favourite card-printing software because it’s simple to use and extremely reliable. There are some problems that can occur though. You can find walkthroughs to some potential issues in the dropdown menu below.

From time to time, you might have an issue with your webcam capture process. This can be for a number of reasons, but there is a way of resolving it:

1.Click the ‘Menu’ button (white box with three lines in the top left of the program window).

2. Click ‘Settings’ at the bottom of the menu.

3. In the EasyBadge options, click ‘Images’ and tick the ‘Use Alternate Image Grabber’ as shown below. This will usually solve any issues with webcam capture.

If you find that your logos are printing in black, there are several things that could be causing the issue.

Before considering if there is a problem with your printer ribbon though, we’d advise checking the following within your EasyBadge software, because some artwork requires different settings to print correctly.

1. Open up the card template by clicking ‘Cange a Design’ button

3. When the template is on screen, a click on the logo that isn’t printing correctly.

4. Try setting the transparency option to ‘None’ (It’s worth remembering that artwork files might need different settings).

Some artwork files can cause an issue with this option and it defaults the logo to ‘K Resin’ when it’s printed.

You can check the error status of the EasyBadge printer by carrying out the following. The printer has a status monitor program built in called Watchman.exe and is held on this location on the user’s computer.

To access it, you can find it under C:\EasyBadge Driver\EasyBadge. When you run the program, it’ll appear as a small Smart printer icon in your system tray as shown below.

You can turn it on by right-clicking on the icon. Go to ‘display’ setting it to ‘popup’ or ‘Always’, depending on if you want it to display all the time, or simply popup when an error is reported.
