As with any product you can buy online, the price of access control cards really does vary from retailer to retailer but how much should you really be paying?
Here at the Smartcard Store, we’re pleased to stock a selection of branded access control cards, many of which are available from us at the lowest prices in the UK but how much should you be paying?
One of the most popular cards from big brand Paxton is the 692-448 Net2 Proximity Card with magnetic stripe and signature stripe, retailing for £26.99 including VAT for 10 cards here at the Smartcard Store.
Other prices on competitor websites include £27.00 including VAT, £29.76 including VAT and £31.61 including VAT, showing that Smartcard Store really does endeavour to bring you the lowest possible prices.
Another popular Paxton card is the 692-053 Net2 Proximity ISO card, available from the Smartcard Store in packs of 500 for £1,438.80 including VAT.
Other prices online include £1,538.39, which once again shows how if you don’t shop around you could miss out on clost to £100.
Another big brand in the access control industry is MIFARE and, just like Paxton, prices can vary drastically depending where you buy them online. Some retailers add a higher premium to the cost price than others, meaning that doing your research is key.
Here at the Smartcard Store, we retail packs of 100 MIFARE Classic 1K NXP EV1 Cards for £46.79, which is inclusive of VAT. Other retailers stock the same product for prices of £51.00, £80.40 and £49.49, meaning that if you don’t shop around, you could end up paying nearly double!
Another example of how the prices of MIFARE cards vary online is the DESFire 4K NXP EV2 Cards, available in packs of 100 for £94.95 at the Smartcard Store, price inclusive of VAT.
Prices from other retailers include £189.60, £113.94 and £134.40, all of which are nearly £20+ more expensive than our price here at the Smartcard Store.
Another huge family of different access control card collections, prices massively vary online for HID cards but as ever, we pride ourselves on offering the best possible prices here at the Smartcard Store. We stock a wide range of HID cards, including the 1326 ProxCard II Clamshell Card in packs of 100, priced at £195.42 including VAT.
The same product, in the same pack size, is available at other online retailers for VAT inclusive prices of £271.20 and £264.00.
As well as access control cards, HID also manufacture access control key fobs, under both the HID brand and as part of the MIFARE Classic collection. The different ranges boast different frequencies, however all work with the ‘tap and go’ style technology of a contactless card.
At the Smartcard Store, we stock the blue MIFARE Classic EV1 1K Key Fobs for £84.00 for a pack of 100, including VAT whilst alternative online stores are selling the same packs of 100 for prices of £126.79 and £116.40.
As well as cards and key fobs, the MIFARE Classic range by HID also includes self-adhesive proximity stickers, working at a 1K frequency that can be used as a sleeker alternative to the other two options.
